Welcome!

Welcome to my website. Learn more about me, why I became a writer, why I have specific interests, and so much more.

All About Me

I was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. I first developed a fascination with books at a young age. My mother used to read to me, and that's how my passion for reading came about. When I was a little older, my friends would create stories about scary people and places in the neighborhood. I remember spending a lot of time at my maternal grandmother's house. I'd get to stay up late (for me) and watch old black-and-white murder mysteries. We'd watch Agatha Christie movies but some Alfred Hitchcock too. We also watched a lot of Murder She Wrote and played Clue. That's how I developed my love for mystery.

In third grade, I joined a Halloween writing contest at my school. I wrote my take on Bloody Mary but localized it to my hometown. The story won, and my teacher told me I should become a writer. So, I wrote my own stories from then on.

When I got a little older, I discovered true crime. I watched  Unsolved Mysteries & America's Most Wanted. I also read into everything related to true crime. I couldn't get enough of it. The cases that interested me most were cases from Victorian times, an era I have always loved. That's how I developed my passion for true crime.

Historical movies and TV shows also influenced my writing as I have always been interested in the past.

When I was a teenager, my father became sick with cancer. He battled it for ten years. In March of 2011, we lost him to cancer, and he left behind a mystery for us to solve. He wanted me to write. I was still messing around with stories but wasn't ready for that transformation from short stories to novels.

That all changed in 2015 when I decided to write Guilty Deceptions, but it took me another six years to have the courage to publish that book. My journey isn't over, and I still have a long way to go. I hope you decide to join me on that journey.
