I haven't posted to the blog for a while, I've been so busy with the editing process for #GuiltyDeceptions that I haven't had time for it. During the process so far, the story has
been transforming into one that's better than the original.
I can only hope that people will like the book once it's out. It's a good story, and even though I made alterations to the story, I think that it all ties together. Though I'm not sure if
#GuiltyDeceptions will be ready by Halloween, it should be ready shortly thereafter.
My editing process is a twelve step process which requires a lot of reading through the entire manuscript multiple times. (I'm on step 10) and I'm only as far as Chapter Six of Nineteen. There isn't enough days left in the month for me to make that October 31st goal. but it should be finished sometime in early November.
I'm still so excited to share this story, and I hope those who choose to read it will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Though #GuiltyDeceptions is based on true events, the story differs greatly from the original story, and therefore after consulting with the #WritingCommunity on Twitter, I had decided to change the character names early in the editing process.
The characters might have different names, but the story has remained the same. That is something that I feel is important, because it's strong and very empowering. The novel is a Mystery/Police Procedural.
Sheriff Stephen Dawson has a tedious job until the discovery of a gruesome murder in the barrens of Willow Grove. Who do the remains belong to? Who committed this grisly act, and will Sheriff Dawson be able to solve this crime before his brother-in-law, John Riley is executed for a crime he claims he didn't commit?
I will post a second Excerpt of #GuiltyDeceptions later this month, so be on the lookout for
it.
Until next time,
D.C. Malcolm
