Hey all, and happy #Saturday! I took a few days off, so I'm aware that I missed Wednesday's blog. I just felt a little over worked, and needed time to recharge. The good thing is I'm back at work, and Dark Jealousy is coming along. I can't wait to share it with you.
How's my progress coming along?
I just started Chapter Seventeen of Nineteen and am currently sitting at 81,511 words. It's going to be great when it's finished. But I'm not anywhere near that point yet. Once the first draft is finished, I let it sit a day. Then I read through the entire manuscript making notes, on the document, on notepad, and on my phone. Then the real fun starts. Rewriting the entire draft, to accommodate the changes to the manuscript. It shouldn't take me very long to do.
Then the entire manuscript goes to my beta readers, and see what they think of it. Then I go through the manuscript again, making more notes, and rewrite it a final time. But it's not done there. That's when I start the 12 step editing process, and run spelling and grammar checks to make sure you get a fully polished manuscript that I'm satisfied with.
We are looking at several months, but I'm confident that the book will be out before the end of the year.
The book though not part of a series, is a direct sequel to Guilty Deceptions and I highly suggest if you haven't read it yet, you should. It's a good read, and will keep you turning those pages from start to finish.
My plan for promotion of Guilty Deceptions
I'm planning to run a free promo on Best Book Monkey in the next couple days. If they accept the book, it should boost it's readers even by a little bit. I'm hoping that more people read Guilty Deceptions before Dark Jealousy is released. It would be great if you read Guilty Deceptions to leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads or both.
I will continue to post the book on free Facebook Groups in hopes to pick up some readers. Other than that there isn't much I can do, until at the earliest, next month.
My Content Bucket
My content bucket seems to be working well with Twitter, so I will continue with it there. I still haven't figured out TikTok very well, but I hope to in the near future. Until then I'll stick to my content bucket to grow my Twitter. I just wish I could reach more readers who would actually read the book. Once they do read it, I know they'll love it.
Until next time,
D.C. Malcolm
